Riverdance Farm Huon Valley TAS
Being located on Australian’s smallest island, Riverdance Farm is found in the Hobart and South region of the Island. That just means we are situated in the most beautiful area of the State (but we don’t like to brag). We back onto kuanyi ranges which makes up some of the 40% of the States national park land.
A beautiful 18 acre working farm, Riverdance Farm nestles against Crabtree Rivulet, where you can enjoy a beautiful tranquil morning stroll, spotting wildlife and our resident platypus. We host guests in our fully self contained guesthouse, and don’t be suprised to look out the window onto the paddocks and some of our alpacas, that produce fabulous fleeces for spinners and knitters.

Guesthouse
Our guesthouse is a separate unit with fully equipped kitchen, beautiful lounge room, laundry and master bedroom, with a deck running off the lounge room overlooking the paddocks and nestled in the kunanyi foothills.
If you are keen to admire nature and country living Riverdance guesthouse is all yours and you are invited to explore the space around our farm, and get to know our alpacas and guinea fowl! They particularly like to greet you in the mornings when you take your coffee for a stroll, or a gentle vino chat over the fence in the evenings. Feel free to walk our property via the laneways, just keeping in mind it is a working farm, gumboots/sturdy footwear is strongly recommended (sometimes we may even have some gum boots to fit adults if you’re a lucky size). If you chose to follow our laneway down to the river, you will discover our little cabin sitting on it’s banks and you may spot echidna’s, platypus and all the local birdlife that frequents our gentle banks.
We are perfectly situated to explore the South end of the Island, with close proximity to Bruny Island ferry, Franklin, Hartz Mountain, Tahune Airwalk and Cygnet just a stones throw. We are also close to Willie Smith’s Cider House (4 kms), events such as the Mid Winter Festival site and Huon Show (Ranelagh). Hobart is 35 minutes away, 45 minute to airport, 2 hours to Port Arthur. Did we mention the local restaurants and of course, cider and gin houses!
